Tim Mackintosh-Smith is an Arabist, translator and freelance author. He studied at the University of Oxford and wrote a trilogy about the travels of the medieval traveler Ibn Battuta. His work was recognized with the Oldie Travel Award for Best Travel Writer and the Ibn Battuta Prize of Honour.
