Thomas von Steinaecker

Thomas von Steinaecker, born in Traunstein in 1977, studied German literature in Munich and Cincinnati and holds a doctorate in literary studies. He has published novels, graphic novels, radio plays and nonfiction, and has worked as a documentary filmmaker. His debut novel, »Wallner beginnt zu fliegen«, was published in 2007 and shortlisted for the German Book Prize. »Die Verteidigung des Paradieses« was nominated for the German Book Prize. In 2017, he and Barbara Yelin published the graphic novel »Der Sommer ihres Lebens«. His documentary »Richard Strauss und seine Heldinnen« received the International Classical Music Award and an ECHO in 2015.
