Thomas Olde Heuvelt was born in 1983 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He studied English and American Studies at Radboud University Nijmegen and the University of Ottawa in Canada, where he lived for half a year. A Dutch author, he is particularly associated with horror and speculative fiction. His short story “The Day the World Turned Upside Down” won the Hugo Award, while other stories were nominated for the Hugo Award and the World Fantasy Award. His novel “Hex” marked his international breakthrough.
