Thomas Nicolai (born in Leipzig in 1963) is a German comedian, parodist, actor and voice artist. After initially training as a pastry chef, he studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and performed at German theaters, including the Berliner Ensemble and the Grips Theater. From 1994 onward, he worked as a freelance comedian with his own programs and became known for characters such as “Der blonde Emil” and “Patrick Schleifer,” as well as for hosting the “Quatsch Comedy Club.” He appeared in various television shows and worked as a voice artist for audiobooks, radio plays and dubbing. His publications include “Sächsisch für Anfänger,” the children’s audio-play series “Die Märchenmäuse,” and Saxon translations of “The Simpsons” and “Asterix.” In 2023, his first novel, “Nackt auf Usedom,” co-written with Kaelo Michael Janßen, was published.
