Thomas Hanifle

Thomas Hanifle was born in Merano in 1976 and studied journalism and communication, political science, and ethnology in Vienna. He worked as a freelance journalist and filmmaker and was a founding member of the Exlibris cooperative. In 2013, he co-founded the online magazine barfuss.it, where he served as editor-in-chief. Hanifle wrote the book “Claus Gatterer: Im Zweifel auf Seiten der Schwachen” (2005) and made the documentary of the same name (2007). He received the Claus Gatterer Recognition Award in 2006. He also edited Gatterer’s diaries and worked as an editor on several memoirs, including Luis Raffeiner’s “Wir waren keine Menschen mehr.”
