Thomas A. Harris (1910–1995) was an American psychiatrist. After studying medicine, he began specialist psychiatric training in Washington, D.C., in 1942 and subsequently served as a psychiatrist in the U.S. Navy. He later headed the psychiatric service at the Navy Hospital in Philadelphia and the Psychiatric Division of the Navy Department. After leaving the military, he taught psychiatry at the University of Arkansas and directed a state agency concerned with institutional care in Washington State. Harris founded the Institute of Transactional Analysis in Sacramento and served as director of the International Association for Transactional Analysis.
