Tanja Raich

Tanja Raich, born in 1986 in Merano, Italy, studied German and history. She worked as an editor and as a programme director for literary and children’s books, and published texts in literary journals and anthologies. Her debut novel, “Jesolo,” was published in 2019 and nominated for the Austrian Book Prize for Debut and the Alpha Literature Prize. An excerpt from her second novel, “Schwerer als das Licht,” won the Ö1 literary competition “Aber sicher” in 2017; the novel was published in 2024. Raich edited, among others, the anthologies “Das Paradies ist weiblich” and “Frei sein.” Her awards and grants included the Exile Literature Prize, a Rome grant from the Austrian Federal Chancellery, and finalist recognition in the MDR Literature Competition.
