Tabea Blumenschein

Tabea Blumenschein (1952–2020) was a German artist, actress, and costume designer. In the 1970s and 1980s, she was a prominent figure in West Berlin’s underground and queer-feminist scene. For around ten years, she worked as a leading actress and costume designer in films by Ulrike Ottinger. She was also a member of the avant-garde punk collective Die tödliche Doris. In the 1990s, she largely withdrew from public life but continued her artistic work until her death.
