Syd Field

Syd Field was an American screenwriter, producer, lecturer, and author of several books on screenwriting. He worked as a screenwriting consultant for companies including 20th Century Fox, Disney, Universal Pictures, TriStar Pictures, and Roland Joffé’s production company. His best-known book, *Screenplay*, was translated into 22 languages and used as teaching material at more than 400 American colleges and universities. Field read, evaluated, and revised numerous screenplays, influencing generations of screenwriters and directors.
