Susanne Scholl

Susanne Scholl, born in Vienna in 1949, studied Slavic languages and literature in Rome and Moscow. She first worked in the foreign affairs department of the Austrian Press Agency and later spent many years as an ORF correspondent in Germany and Russia, particularly in Moscow. Scholl has published numerous works of nonfiction, fiction and poetry, including “Emma schweigt,” “Warten auf Gianni,” “Wachtraum,” “Die Damen des Hauses” and “Omas Bankraub.” Her awards for journalism and human rights engagement include the Concordia Prize and the Austrian Decoration for Science and Art.
