Susanne Hornfeck

Born in 1956, Susanne Hornfeck is a Germanist and Sinologist with a doctorate. She worked as a literary translator and author of young adult books and nonfiction on Traditional Chinese Medicine. She translated from Chinese and English, including works by authors from China and Taiwan such as Yang Mu, and contributed to English-language poetry translations. From 1989 to 1994, she taught at National Taiwan University in Taipei. Her translations received several awards, including the C.H. Beck Translation Prize in 2007, the Blaue Brillenschlange award and the Max Geilinger Translation Fellowship.
