Stephen Desberg, born in Brussels in 1954, is a Belgian comic-book writer. He began his career in 1976 with short stories for the magazine Tintin and became a professional comics scriptwriter in 1978. He has worked in a variety of genres, including humorous, fantastic, historical and realistic stories. His best-known works include Harry and Platte, Billy the Cat, 421, Mick Mac Adam, Gaspard de la Nuit, La Vache, The Star of the Desert and The Scorpion. He has collaborated with artists including Will, Stéphane Colman, Enrico Marini and Bernard Vrancken. Desberg also had a strong interest in Africa and addressed subjects such as fascism and racism in his comics.
