Stefano D'Arrigo

Stefano D’Arrigo (1919–1992) was an Italian writer. He completed his studies with a thesis on Friedrich Hölderlin and made his literary debut in 1957 with a volume of poetry for which Giuseppe Ungaretti and Carlo Emilio Gadda awarded him a prize. He then spent decades working on his major novel, »Horcynus Orca«, which was published in 1975 after extensive revisions. His second novel, »La cima delle nobildonne«, followed in 1985. D’Arrigo died in Rome in 1992.
