Stefanie Gerhold

Stefanie Gerhold (born 1967) is a translator of Spanish-language literature. Her translations include works by Max Aub, Elsa Osorio, and Manuel Vázquez Montalbán. In 1999, she received the Spanish Embassy’s Translator’s Prize in the young translators category. In 2023, she was awarded the Eurodram Prize for her translation of Juan Mayorga’s play “Himmelweg.” Gerhold has written essays on intercultural topics and published the radio play “Come Back” with Deutschlandfunk Kultur. “Das Lächeln der Königin” is her first novel.
