Stefan Ripplinger was born in 1962 in St. Ingbert, Saarland. He studied comparative literature and linguistics in Berlin and worked as a journalist, editor, and translator. Ripplinger co-founded the magazine »Jungle World« and wrote about film, art, and literature for publications including »konkret«, »Neues Deutschland«, »Saarbrücker Hefte«, and »Schreibheft«. His publications include »Bildzweifel« (2011), »Schiefe Bahn: Künstler, die schreiben« (2013), »Mary Pickfords Locken« (2014), »Vergebliche Kunst« (2016), »Mallarmés Menge« (2019), and »Kommunistische Kunst« (2019).
