Stefan Blankertz (born 1956) is a social scientist and writer. His first book publication appeared in 1975: a translation of Paul Goodman’s critique of schooling, “Compulsory Mis-education,” published in German as “Das Verhängnis der Schule.” Goodman became a major focus of Blankertz’s scholarly and literary work, which addressed his ideas from philosophical, therapeutic, and literary perspectives. Blankertz wrote several books on Gestalt therapy, including “Gestalt begreifen” and “Verteidigung der Aggression,” and co-authored an introduction and a lexicon of Gestalt therapy with Erhard Doubrawa. His publications also include the 2017 monograph on Kurt Lewin, “Kritik der Ganzheit,” as well as poetry and political writing.
