Sofi Oksanen

Sofi Oksanen (born 1977) is a Finnish author of Estonian-Finnish heritage. She studied dramaturgy at the Theatre Academy of Helsinki. Her literary breakthrough came with her third novel, *Purge*, which topped the Finnish bestseller list for several months and received, among other honors, the Finlandia Prize and the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize.
