Simon Mason

Simon Mason (born 1962) was born in Sheffield and studied English literature at Oxford. He wrote books for children, young adults and adults, including thrillers and the children’s series about the Quigley family. His young adult novel *Moon Pie* was nominated for the Guardian Children’s Fiction Award in 2011, and *Zu schön, um tot zu sein* was nominated for the Costa Children’s Book Award in 2014. Mason received the Betty Trask Award for his debut novel. Alongside writing, he worked for several years as publishing director at David Fickling Books.
