Silke Elzner was born in Dortmund, where she wrote short stories and poems for her school newspaper. After studying linguistics, literature and English studies, she moved to Sydney and worked in online tourism. After 13 years, she returned to Germany via Spain. Elzner works as an author and literary translator. Her debut novel, *Die letzte Fehde an der Havel*, was nominated for the HOMER Literature Prize in 2023.
