Sigrid Boo (1898–1953) was a Norwegian author of popular novels. Born in Oslo on 23 August 1898, she wrote ten novels between 1922 and 1942. Her work, which addressed the social issues of her time as well as love, was translated into thirteen languages. She is particularly known for her 1930 novel “Dienstmädchen für ein Jahr,” which was adapted for film several times, including in 1934 as “Servants’ Entrance” for the US market. Boo died on 12 September 1953.
