Shlomo Sand

Shlomo Sand, born in Linz in 1946, is a historian who moved to Israel with his family in 1949 as a child of Polish Jews. After studying social sciences in Paris, he taught history at Tel Aviv University, where he became professor emeritus. His best-known books include The Invention of the Jewish People (2010), The Invention of the Land of Israel (2012), and Why I Am Not a Jew (2013).
