Sara Shepard

Sara Shepard studied at New York University and earned a master’s degree in creative writing from Brooklyn College. She became known primarily for the young adult series Pretty Little Liars, which became a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into an internationally broadcast television series. Her Lying Game series also became a New York Times bestseller. Shepard has written novels for both young adults and adults. Her childhood in a Philadelphia suburb inspired the Pretty Little Liars series. Her children’s-book debut, Penny Kritzelt sich durchs Leben, was also illustrated by her.
