Santiago Calatrava

Santiago Calatrava, born in Valencia, Spain, in 1951, is a Spanish architect, artist, and civil engineer. He studied at the ETSA in Valencia and earned a doctorate from ETH Zurich. In 1981, he founded his own architecture and civil engineering firm there. His notable works include the Milwaukee Art Museum, the opera house in Valencia, the Olympic sports facilities in Athens, and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York.
