Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772–1834) was an English poet and a major figure of English Romanticism. Together with William Wordsworth, he published *Lyrical Ballads*, a landmark work of Romantic poetry. Among his best-known poems are “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” and “Kubla Khan.” In addition to writing poetry, Coleridge engaged with literary theory, philosophy, and theology, and worked as a journalist and public lecturer.
