After completing a traineeship at a daily newspaper, Sabine Zett worked for several years as a journalist before becoming an author. She wrote around 40 books for children, young adults and adults, as well as screenplays, radio plays, columns, cabaret pieces and song lyrics. She became particularly well known for her award-winning Hugo series of children’s and young adult books, which was translated into numerous languages and reached the SPIEGEL bestseller list. Zett also supported children’s reading and language development and served as an official reading ambassador for Stiftung Lesen from 2018.
