Ruth Zylberman (born 1971) studied history at Sciences Po and New York University before teaching herself filmmaking. She published a novel and made numerous documentary films. Her 2018 documentary film *The Children of Rue Saint-Maur* received numerous awards; the book based on it was translated into several languages.
