Ruth Rehmann (1922–2016) was a German writer. After completing secondary school, she studied in the master classes of the music academies in Berlin and Cologne. She began writing in the 1950s and published her first novel, “Illusionen,” in 1959. In addition to novels and short stories, she wrote numerous radio plays. Her notable works include “Der Mann auf der Kanzel” (1979), “Abschied von der Meisterklasse” (1985), “Die Schwaigerin” (1987), and the autobiographical account “Unterwegs in fremden Träumen” (1993). Her final novel, “Ferne Schwester,” was published in 2009.
