Roman Deininger

Roman Deininger (born 1978) worked as a political reporter and chief reporter for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He covered the CSU for many years, and his portrait of Markus Söder was nominated for the Theodor Wolff Prize. Deininger grew up in Ingolstadt and studied politics and theater in Munich, Vienna, and New Orleans. He earned a doctorate with a thesis on politics and religion in the United States. He is the author of a history of the CSU and, together with Uwe Ritzer, a biography of Markus Söder.
