Robert Greene (born 1959) is an American writer. He studied classical philology and comparative literature at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He subsequently worked as an editor and journalist for several magazines, including Esquire, and as a screenwriter in Hollywood. He became known for his book *The 48 Laws of Power*, which was successful in the United States and internationally and was translated into 24 languages.
