Robert Fleck

Robert Fleck (born 1957) is a historian, author and exhibition curator. He studied history, philosophy and art history in Vienna and Paris and received his doctorate in Innsbruck. His professional positions have included Austria’s federal art curator from 1991 to 1993, commissioner of the Austrian Pavilion at the 2007 Venice Biennale, and director of the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn from 2009 to 2012. Fleck studied, among others, under the philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Michel Foucault and was a professor of Art and the Public at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.
