Robert B. Parker

Robert B. Parker (1932–2010) was an American author. He became best known for his crime novels featuring Spenser, a private detective based in Boston; the first novel in the series was published in 1973. Parker wrote a total of 39 novels about the character. In 1977, he received the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Crime Novel of the Year for „Beute für Profis“. His other major series follows investigator Jesse Stone and comprises nine novels; it was adapted for television with Tom Selleck in the title role.
