Robert Brack (born 1959) is an author and translator. From 1988 onward, he published crime novels often based on real events in Hamburg’s history. His notable works include the historical crime novels “Und das Meer gab seine Toten wieder,” “Blutsonntag,” and “Schwarzer Oktober,” featuring investigator Klara Schindler, as well as the thriller “Dammbruch,” about the 1962 storm surge. Brack received the German Crime Prize and the Marlowe Award from the Raymond Chandler Society for his novels. He has also translated crime fiction from English, including works by Declan Burke and Jake Lamar.
