Rinny Gremaud was born in Busan, South Korea, in 1977 and moved to Switzerland with her mother as a young girl. She studied business administration and worked as a journalist for Radio Télévision Suisse. From 2007 to 2015, she wrote for the newspaper Le Temps and became known for her reportage and portraits. In 2018, she published her first book, Un Monde en toc, which appeared in German as Verkaufte Welt.
