Riku Onda

Riku Onda, born in 1964 in Miyagi Prefecture, published her debut novel, “The Sixth Child,” in 1992. She received the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize and the Yamamoto Shūgorō Prize. In 2017, she was awarded the Naoki Prize and the Japan Booksellers’ Award for “Honeybees and Distant Thunder.” Several of her works have been adapted for film and television.
