Richard David Precht (born 1964) is a German philosopher, publicist, and author. He was an honorary professor of philosophy and aesthetics at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and, from 2011 to 2023, an honorary professor of philosophy at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He became widely known through his book *Who Am I—and If So, How Many?* (*Wer bin ich – und wenn ja, wie viele?*). His work focuses primarily on philosophical and sociopolitical topics. He hosted the ZDF philosophy program *Precht* and discussed social, political, and philosophical developments with Markus Lanz on the podcast *LANZ & PRECHT*.
