Renate Wagner-Wittula was born in Addis Ababa in 1956 and grew up in Linz. She studied German, English and Cultural Management, and worked as a freelance editor and author of numerous cookbooks focused on Austrian cuisine. She developed joint book projects with, among others, Christoph Wagner, Ingrid Pernkopf, Adi Bittermann, Jörg Wörther, Toni Mörwald and Ulli Amon-Jell. She was also a co-editor of the Austrian “Wirtshausführer” guide.
