Rainer Komers (born 1944) began his career creating posters and screen prints before studying film at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. As a director and cinematographer, he made more than 30 documentary films. His work also includes posters, photography, Word Art, poetry, and essayistic and journalistic texts. He received numerous awards for his filmmaking. *Worte Fliege Agfa* was his first extensive collection of poetry.
