Preti Taneja

Preti Taneja was born and raised in the United Kingdom in a family of Indian origin. She worked as a human rights activist and journalist, reporting from conflict zones. She also taught at the University of Warwick, co-founded ERA Films, and edited VISUAL VERSE. Her novella *Kumkum Malhotra* won the Gatehouse Press New Fictions Prize in 2014. Her debut novel, *We That Are Young*, received the British Desmond Elliot Prize.
