Pierre Guyotat
Author · 2 books
Pierre Guyotat was a French writer associated with the literary avant-garde. He published his first novel, »Sur un cheval«, in 1961. That same year he was drafted into the Algerian War; in 1962 he was imprisoned for inciting desertion and distributing banned writings. He became known in particular for »Grave of 500,000 Soldiers« and »Eden Eden Eden«, which provoked a major controversy and was subject to censorship for years. Following a prolonged psychiatric crisis, he addressed this period in »Koma« (2006).
