Philippe Besson was born in 1967 in Barbezieux in France’s Charente region. After studying in Bordeaux and Rouen, he moved to Paris in 1989, where he initially worked as a lawyer and lecturer in social law. His first novel, “Time of Absence,” was published in France in 2001, followed by numerous other novels. His autobiographically inspired book “Stop Lying” is based on his own life story.
