Peter Seewald (born 1954) worked as an editor and writer for Der Spiegel, Stern and the magazine of Süddeutsche Zeitung until 1994. He is particularly known for his interview books with Joseph Ratzinger, including Salt of the Earth, God and the World, Light of the World and Last Conversations. Several of these books were translated into around 30 languages. His other publications include The School of the Monks, Jesus Christ: The Biography, Benedict XVI: A Life and Welt auf der Kippe.
