Peter Gautschi

Peter Gautschi is a teacher and scholar of history education. He taught at all levels of compulsory schooling and has taught and conducted research at higher-education institutions since 1989. As a professor of history education at the Lucerne University of Teacher Education, he headed its Institute for History Education and Cultures of Remembrance; he was also an honorary professor at the University of Teacher Education Freiburg in Germany. His areas of work include history teaching, educational research, teaching and educational media, and public history. He has published in several languages on approaches to the Holocaust in schools and public life. Several of his print and digital teaching materials have received awards, including the World Didac Award.
