Michele Barricelli

Michele Barricelli (born 1966) is a German scholar of history education. From 2009 to 2016, he was Professor of History Education at Leibniz University Hannover; in 2016, he took up the chair of History Education and Public History at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His research has focused on narrative competence and historical learning, the teaching and remembrance of National Socialism and the GDR, and work with contemporary witnesses. In 2005, he published the book *Schüler erzählen Geschichte. Narrative Kompetenz im Geschichtsunterricht* (*Students Tell History: Narrative Competence in History Education*).
