Peter Dausend

Peter Dausend studied American Studies, political science and English philology in Saarbrücken. After completing a traineeship at the Axel Springer School of Journalism, he began working in 1994 for the ERGO development department of Heinrich Bauer Publishing. In 1995, he joined the newspaper Die Welt, initially serving on its foreign desk. As an Arthur F. Burns Fellow, he worked for the Anchorage Daily News in Alaska in 1998. From 1999, he wrote as a reporter for Die Welt’s “Seite 3” section and in 2001 moved to its parliamentary bureau in Berlin. In 2008, he became a political correspondent and columnist for the weekly newspaper Die Zeit.
