Paulina Schulz

Born in Poland in 1973, Paulina Schulz is an author, translator and university lecturer. She studied literary translation at the German Institute of Literature in Leipzig and also worked as a fitness coach. Her publications include the short-story collection “Wasserwelt” (2005), the poetry volumes “paralysing shadows” (2006) and “Meeres.Spiegel” (2013), and the novel “Das Eiland” (2014). As a translator, she has translated works by Manuela Gretkowska, Marek Krajewski, Magdalena Parys and Jerzy Pilch into German, as well as poetry by Alexander Gumz and Uljana Wolf into Polish. She received several scholarships, including one from the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (2013) and the Albrecht Lempp Scholarship (2014).
