Paul-Josef Raue

Paul-Josef Raue (1950–2019) was a German journalist and editor-in-chief of several daily newspapers. He headed, among others, the Braunschweiger Zeitung, Volksstimme in Magdeburg, Frankfurter Neue Presse, Oberhessische Presse in Marburg, Eisenacher Presse, and, until 2015, Thüringer Allgemeine. He also helped establish the business magazine Econy, now published as brand eins. Together with the editorial teams he led, Raue received numerous journalism awards. He taught in the training and continuing education of journalists and published many essays on journalism. He was a member of the first class of the Hamburg School of Journalism, where he studied under Wolf Schneider.
