Paul Hawken (born 1946) is an American entrepreneur, publisher and author whose work focuses on ecology and sustainability. He founded two companies selling ecological products, including Smith & Hawken, which received the Environmental Stewardship Award in 1992. His books and publications address the relationship between business and the environment, industrial ecology and environmental policy. His book *The Ecology of Commerce* was translated into 26 languages.
