Patrick Chamoiseau

Patrick Chamoiseau was born in Martinique in 1953. He studied law and social economics in France and initially worked as a social worker. As a writer, he focused particularly on Creole culture and his home island of Martinique. His novel “Texaco” received the Prix Goncourt in 1992. “Die Spur des Anderen” was shortlisted for the Internationaler Literaturpreis of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in 2015.
