Paolo Rumiz, born in Trieste in 1947, is an Italian journalist and author. As a correspondent for the daily newspaper La Repubblica, he reported on the wars in Afghanistan and Yugoslavia. He received numerous awards for his journalistic work. He has published essays, novels and stories about journeys through Italy and to remote parts of Europe. His works published in German include The Lighthouse (2017), The Soul of the River (2018), Via Appia (2019) and Europe: A Song (2023).
