Reviewed by TumtumDer Klappentext verspricht eine sinnliche Robinsonade – die Realität ist ein assoziatives Sammelsurium aus Reiseanekdoten, Kriegsreportage-Erinnerungen und Weltgeschichten, das kaum bei der Insel selbst verweilt. Wer wie ich vorher “Das Licht zwischen den Meeren” gelesen hat, wird die atmosphärische Nähe zum Leuchtturm-Leben schmerzlich vermissen: kein Zugang zum Innenleben des Autors, kaum Bilder von Insel und Turm im Kopf. Die “Einsamkeit” im Titel wirkt zudem fraglich, wenn eigentlich ständig Wärter, Familie und Besuch da sind. Für mich eher eine Aneinanderreihung von Stationen aus Rumiz’ journalistischem Leben als eine echte Auseinandersetzung mit dem Ort. Nach zwei Dritteln nur noch geblättert. Schade, ich bin ein großer Fan von Leuchttürmen und hab mir mehr erwartet, als die Quintessenz, dass mein Heim mein Leuchtturm sein kann.
